IDO History

How the Dato’ Onn Institute Was Born.

The story begins on January 19th 2000, when the IDO, then known as Institut Kepimpinan dan Latihan Semangat Dato’ Onn (IKLAS) was conceived to achieve a crucial goal: ensuring the continuity of the Johor state and country through pragmatic youth leaders of caliber.

Led by its first director, Y.Bhg Datuk Dr. Zainal bin Kling, the institute was tasked to create courses and train its participants in understanding government policies.
